Our Process
Custom Closets of Jacksonville is the premier provider of custom closets and storage solutions in Jacksonville. With years of experience as a custom closet designer, we bring unmatched expertise to every project. Each custom closet we build is designed to be unique and precisely tailored to your unique spaces and needs. We believe that you do not want built-in closets that look like they were intended for someone else—and we agree! That is why we take our time with you, listening to your vision and needs before we even start designing your closet.
Step One: Project Review
The first step of our design process is a project review. During this call, we will discuss the details of your project, including the timeline, budget, purpose of your closet system, users, and what you will store. In this way, we can give you a firm price quote on the spot and determine if using a SketchUp mockup is required before beginning work on your custom closet design.
Step Two: Home Visit
The second part of our process is a home visit with the client. We discuss all of their requirements, schedule a time to meet with them, and figure out what custom-built closet would work best for them and what fabrics and hardwoods they are interested in using. In some cases, we also go through the home’s floor plan to figure out what kind of hub for electrical, plumbing, or other things will be included in or near the closet. When we meet in person with our clients, it is exciting to hear their vision for their space. At this point, we can mention some cost-effective ways to achieve their goals or expand on their ideas.
Step Three: Design Team Consultation
The third step of our custom closet design process is the design team consultation. This is the point where all of our planning comes together in person with an on-site consultation. Our designers will review all of your information while visiting your home and using the measurements and pictures you have provided. This is to reiterate anything written on paper, offer additional ideas, and give you a tour of some of our finished projects. They are responsible for taking all of your notes and ideas, filtering them through their experience and knowledge of our systems, and combining them into what will become your custom closet.
Step Four: Measurement
The next step of our design process is measurement. Our designers check to make sure the space you have selected for your custom closet design will accommodate the closet you want to build. The sizes are recorded and compared to our records to make sure any inconsistencies are addressed. We also take photographs of your space to use as a reference during the design process. This is important when designing a custom closet because not all possible storage components may fit within the available space at once when dealing with small areas.
